Patsy Carole Alexander, 84, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:15 am December 25, 2021 at her residence in Mount Vernon.

She was born March 6, 1937 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Hulin and Louie Mae (Dobbs) McGuire. Patsy married Rex Clinton Alexander on September 24, 1955. They were blessed with nearly forty-six years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 5, 2001.Patsy is survived by her daughters, Kim Krug of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Pam Michel and husband, Chris of Texico, Illinois, Beth Ann Alexander of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Skyler Michel and wife, Tatum, Jabe Michel, Rosanna Krug and fiancé, Bob Snediker, Quinn Krug and wife, Molly, Noah Rex Alexander; and great-grandchildren, Daelen Michel, Sawyer Michel, Slater Michel, William Ryder Krug.In addition to her parents and husband, Patsy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William Ray Krug; brother, Robert McGuire; and sister, Jean McGuire. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Mount Vernon Gun and Sportsman’s Club, Mount Vernon Elks Lodge #819. Patsy was a homemaker and worked side by side with her husband, Rex in W.C. Alexander Wholesale in Mount Vernon. She loved life, her family and friends, and her dogs and cats. Christmas Eve was always a special gathering and everyone was welcome. Everyone loved Patsy and she made sure her home was open to anyone. Patsy never met a stranger. Fun and love abounded anywhere Patsy was. She will truly be missed.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
