METROPOLIS, IL — The 43rd annual Superman Celebration begins Friday and runs through Sunday in Metropolis.

The event – which brings in thousands of people from all corners of the globe to Metropolis every year to celebrate the “Man of Steel” – didn’t happen last year due to COVID-19. It’s normally a four-day event held the second weekend of June. But one of the co-chairs of this year’s Superman Celebration, Carla Ogle, says this year’s event was shortened to three days and moved to this week to give everyone more time to get vaccinated and be more comfortable traveling and being around people.

Ogle mentions the celebrities who will be appearing at the Superman Celebration this year.

Ogle says the 2022 Superman Celebration will return to being held the second weekend of June.
