Virginia Leuty, 88, of Vandalia, and formerly of Dix, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia. She was born July 11, 1932, in Dix, the daughter of William and Frances (Sanders) Guymon.  She was a member of Dix United Methodist Church.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Linda Shurtz and husband Shelby of Vandalia, and Pam Beal and husband Mike of Kinmundy;  four grandchildren, Michelle Carter and husband Bryan of Salem, Chris Beal of Vandalia, Ryan Shurtz and wife Tiffany of Scheller, and Chad Shurtz and wife Gwen of Vandalia;  fourteen great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Matthew, and Brylee Carter, Hayley Rosenberger, Aubrey, Christopher, Christian, and Landon Beal, Roslin and Rhett Shurtz, Jonathan and Owen Shurtz, and Tristan and Trenton Overvig;  one great-great-grandchild, Veronica Overvig;  one brother, Richard Guymon and wife Maxine;  one sister, Carlene Hansel;  five nieces;  three nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Robert Hansel; and several special aunts and uncles.

In accordance with Virginia’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.  Burial will follow at Zion Grove (County Line) Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, July 17, 2021.  Memorial gifts may be made to Zion Grove Cemetery, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
