Virgil Austin Ellis, 81, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:58 am June 27, 2021 at his residence in Mount Vernon. He was born August 15, 1939 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Virgil and Juanita (Eubanks) Ellis Virgil married Ramona (Mays) Ellis on June 9, 1979.

In addition to his loving wife of  forty-two years, Virgil is survived by his sons, Jimmy Williams of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Michael Williams of Woodlawn, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Ellis.

Virgil worked as a delivery driver for Flota Distribution for thirty-eight year. He was a member of Central Christian Church and will be missed.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:30 am at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois with Mr. J. Howard Kraps officiating. Interment will follow.
