Robert L. Williams, 79, of Sebring, Florida, and formerly of Kell, passed away Saturday morning, March 6, 2021, in Tampa, Florida.

He was born August 16, 1941, in Kell, Illinois, the son of Robert Farrell and Ruby Pearl (Hawkins) Williams. On June 11, 1960, he married Roberta Mae Johnson, and she survives him in Sebring, Florida.

Bob bought and sold cars for many years, and started by working for Bill Akins Pontiac in Centralia. After a few years, he and his father, Farrell Williams, purchased the Conoco Service Station on Route 37 and Kell Road. Farrell sold gas, and Bob had a body shop, before adding in car sales. He then worked for Max Dye in Salem for a few years before building a new car sales lot on Whitaker Street in Salem. After a few more years, he sold this lot, and built a new car lot on Route 37 and Kell Road, where he bought and sold cars for 40 more years.

Bob and Roberta had a special life, full of love. In addition to his wife, Roberta, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda Morris and husband Bruce of Salem, and Cheryl Hester and husband Tom of Dix; two grandchildren, Brandy Karcher and husband Kurt of Dix, and Robert Morris and future bride Danielle, and her son Nolan of Salem; four great-grandchildren, Ella and Kaitlyn Karcher, and Aspen and Bristol Morris, for which he had a special love; two nephews, Russ Williams of Shererville, Indiana, and Ron Williams and wife Diane of Tucson, Arizona; and several great-nieces-and-nephews; Special cousin, Gary Williams and significant other Evelyn of Kell; and aunt Darlene Williams, of Sebring, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Charles William “Bill” Williams.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Rev. Dallas Bundy officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Grove (County Line) Cemetery. Visitation will be held From 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at the Funeral Home. In accordance with current guidelines, attendance is limited to 50 people at a time, within the building. Attendees are asked to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
