Wanda Morton, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 4:00 am February 17, 2021 at her residence. She was born March 14, 1931 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late James Lester and Beulah L. (Winkler) Woodland. Wanda married Nolan Gaylord Miller and he preceded her in death. She later married George E. Morton and he preceded her in death.
Wanda is survived by her children, David Miller and wife, Gaylyn of Scheller, Illinois, Steve Miller of Carbondale, Illinois, Deborah Tolley of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Dennis Miller and wife, Myra of Mount Vernon, Illinois; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dixie Fellows of Robinson, Illinois, Linda Shannon and husband, Melvin of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Michael Woodland and wife, Anita of Herron, Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy “Jim” Woodland, Jr.
Due to Covid-19, A Private Funeral Service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois with Reverend Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wanda’s honor to Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
