David C. Birke, 60, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:15 AM, January 28, 2021 at his residence. He was born November 23, 1960 in Red Bud, Illinois to the late Norbert and Violet (Polacek) Birke.

David is survived by his daughter, Shannon Birke and husband, Ian Craig of Saint Louis, Missouri; brother, Darren Birke of Phoenix, Arizona; and sister, Debbie Birke of Orlando, Florida.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Birke.

David worked several years at Crossroads Community Hospital and later in the floral department at Kroger in Mount Vernon. David was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 7, 2021 from12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mark Hutson officiating.
