Tony Richard Burnett, Sr., 81, of Opdyke, Illinois, passed away at 12:06 pm December 22, 2020 at his residence. He was born October 1, 1939 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Samuel and Grace (Glenn) Burnett. Tony married Judy Louise (Davis) Burnett on November 13, 1957 in Shawneetown, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly 56 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on September 24, 2013.Tony is survived by his children, Tony Richard Burnett, Jr. of Opdyke, Diane Renee Huston and husband, Darrell of Mount Vernon, Debra Ellen Johnson and husband, Carl of Opdyke, and Darla May McClain and husband, Ted of Opdyke; grandchildren, Lane, Desiree, Laura, Ambur, Aaron, and Danielle; nine great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Betty Davis of Rockford, Illinois; sister-in-law, Nora Ferger and husband, Bob of Rockford, Illinois; cousin, Sam Gowler and wife, Donna of Bonnie, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Tony was preceded in death by his grandson, Darrell Huston, Jr.; and brother, Glenn Irvin Burnett.Tony was a proud lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Club of Jefferson County and a lifetime member of the NRA and Opdyke Missionary Baptist Church. Tony enjoyed watching motor sports and loved to collect guns and knives. Most of all, Tony enjoyed the time he spent with his family. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.   A Private Graveside Service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
