MT. VERNON — Like every school district around the state, Mt. Vernon City Schools are preparing for the new normal that will come with in-person classes this fall. District 80 Superintendent Aletta Lawrence says the faculty and staff are doing everything they can to prepare and make sure they can keep everyone safe when school returns.
Lawrence says facemasks will be required for everyone this fall.
Lawrence says plans will be put in place for students with special reasons for not wearing a facemask, and the district will also prepare for that as the school year approaches.
