Catherine Irene Thackrey died peacefully at 12:05 am Sunday, June 14, 2020. She was born April 28, 1931 in Norris City, Illinois the daughter of Carl and Mabel Bruce. She grew up in McLeansboro, Illinois and graduated from McLeansboro High School.

On June 4, 1949, she married Wm “Bill” Thackrey in McLeansboro. They moved to Mount Vernon shortly thereafter.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Randy Sells officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Catherine’s honor to Central Christian Church food pantry.
