Mary E. Baker, 91, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:37 am March 5, 2020 at Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Marion, Illinois. She was born May 1, 1928 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late William and Mayme (Keef) Kniffen. Mary married Marvin Baker on March 25, 1946 in. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 18, 1988.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home with Reverend Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Mary’s honor to Bethel Memorial Cemetery.
