“God has gained another angel” Linda Ellen Hart, 78, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois.

She was born September 7, 1941 in Hamilton County, IL, to Harley and Sarah Ellen (Thompson) VanWinkle Sr.  Linda was a long time employee of Owens Illinois in West Chicago, IL.  She also worked at Phoenix Closure in Naperville, IL and Mary’s Corner Tap in South Elgin, IL.  She loved her family and friends and always accepted everyone.

Linda is survived by Tom Hart of McLeansboro, IL; two sons: Timothy Morris and Michael Hart, both of St. Charles, IL; one daughter, Karen Morris of Zanesville, OH; one brother, Cletis “Red” VanWinkle of Durand, IL; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Bruce Morris; four brothers: Charles, Larry, Carl and Harley VanWinkle Jr.; and three sisters: Lois Yonkers, Alberta Birkner and Cleta Henderson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  She will be laid to rest at the IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.
