Ruth Ann Carr, 76, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:20 am January 13, 2020 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born August 20, 1943 in Pontiac, Illinois to the late Ellis Elrod and Pauline  (Bundy) Elrod. Ruth married Ron Carr on June 28, 1969 and he survives in Mount Vernon.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.  A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend David Eadie officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Ruth’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
