MT. VERNON — Crossroads Community Hospital will honor veterans and their guest with a Veterans Luncheon in the Conference Center on Friday, November 8th, from 10:30am-2pm. The meal consists of chili, cornbread, toppings, and sodas. There will also be a vegetarian option and take-out available.

ReMax Elite in Mt. Vernon are inviting Veterans to join them for cookies and punch Friday, November 8th from 10a-2pm at their 2419 Broadway location.

WEBBER –Bluford Unit School District #318 will host a Veterans Day Program Friday November 8th, at 1:30pm in the Junior High Gym.

WOODLAWN — Woodlawn High School will host a special presentation for Lieutenant JG, US Navy Fighter Pilot from World War II, Lyle Endicott on November 8th at 2pm. Congressman Mike Bost will present a Congressional Resolution. State Representative Terri Bryant will present a Proclamation from the Governor, along with a Resolution from both the Illinois House and Senate. BENTON — A Veterans Day ceremony will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post 280 in Benton. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2671 and the Legion in Benton will perform the traditional 21-gun salute, and the flag will be lowered to half-staff. Taps will also be played at the ceremony. Franklin County retired judge Loren Lewis will make remarks. The group will also perform a salute at the Benton Civil War cemetery behind the American Legion Hall. Helia Healthcare will serve free chili following the ceremony at 1 p.m.

MCLEANSBORO — Veterans Day services will be held indoors on Monday at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post 106 at 409 West Market Street. Dinner will follow.

CARBONDALE — The City of Carbondale is partnering with the Carbondale Lions Club to host a Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Carbondale.
