Leroy Dees, 93, of Zeigler, Illinois passed away at 9:15 P.M.August 20, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 15, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Baron and Irene (Nelson) Dees. He was first married to Joan Isom in July of 1946 and she preceded him in death in 2004.  He later married Phyllis Hartley on March 23, 2005 and she survives in Zeigler.

A Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 23, 2019 at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois.  A Masonic Service will be held beginning at 7:30 P.M. the evening of the visitation. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville with Harl Ray Lewis officiating. Interment will follow atMount Pleasant Cemetery in Valier, Illinois and members of the Sesser VFW Post #4753 will conduct Full Military Honors at the cemetery. Memorials, in Leroy’s loving memory, may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
