WASHINGTON COUNTY — A January 22 jury trial date was confirmed Tuesday in Washington County court for a 69-year-old Wamac man charged with multiple child sex offenses.

Henry Michael Wolenhaupt was arrested in August 2018 and charged with two counts Class 1 criminal sexual assault of a family member under the age of 18 and three counts Class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a family member under the age of 18.

Following his arrest in August, Wolenhaupt pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing and a first appearance with his private attorney.

For months following his arrest Wolenhaupt searched for an attorney to represent him in the case but was ultimately appointed attorney Dennis Hatch by the court.

A final pre-trial hearing in the case is scheduled for January 18, with all final motions in the case and jury instructions to be submitted to the court by January 15.

Wolenhaupt remains in the Washington County Jail with bail set at $200,000.
