Charles Rodger Bassett, 75, of Dix, Illinois passed away at 11:55 P.M. July 10,2018 at his residence in Dix, Illinois. He was born November 8, 1942 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Charles O. Bassett and Alta M. Cox. He married Judith F. Corvin on July 28, 1980 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with 31 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on December 13, 2011.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Kirk Cemetery with Reverend James Watts officiating.  Interment will follow. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
