James “Jimmy” R. Fisher, 70, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 4:05 P.M.June 19, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born October 1, 1947 in Akin, Illinois to the late James T. Fisher and Dana Wilson. He married Vera Fisher (Schnicker) on June 26, 1999 in Hamilton County, Illinois. They were blessed with 19 years of marriage until he preceded her in death.

In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by his children, Brandy Reeves and husband Bryan of Greenville, Tennessee, Victoria Fisher of Greenville, Tennessee, Jesse Jr Baltzell and wife, Kathy of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Kathy Byers and husband, Craig of Mount Vernon, Illinois; 8 grandchildren, Destiny, Mia and Nena Reeves of Greenville ,Tennessee, Maria Byars of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Amy Povolish and husband, Ryan of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jennifer Scarber of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Danny Scarber and wife, Erica of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and papas special little boy, Logan Ray Shreve; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Harvery fisher of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sisters, Joyce Schnicker and husband, Jerry, and Betty Schnicker and husband, Larry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Fisher; infant brother, Donald Fisher; and sister, Millie Conners

Jimmy was a member of Broxin Spring Baptist Church in Moshien, Tennessee, Mert’s Land R.C. club, and the vice president in the Mount Vernon American Legion post #141. He was an industrial electrician and eventually retired from Rockwell and G.E. Jimmy enjoyed go cart racing, R.C. airplanes, four wheeling, camping, fishing, and friends and family. He loved his family dearly. Jimmy will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Visitation: Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Funeral Service:Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Hamson officiating.  Interment: Middle Creek Baptist Church in Rural Hamilton County, Illinois. Memorials: St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
