Martha Lynn Archer, 70, of Iuka, joined the heavenly choir March 18, 2018, at 1:03 a.m., at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 9, 1947, daughter of W.K. and Amy (Kern) Green. She married Larry N. Archer on February 18, 1964. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2014.
Martha is survived by her children, Kim Pierce and husband David of Texico, Tania Allison and husband Lyndell of Texico, Terry Archer and wife Brenda of Iuka, Marty Archer and wife Coby of Mt. Vernon, Courtney Archer of Salem, Becky Amos and husband Roger of Tennessee, Adam Schwegler of Tennessee, and Dani Wood and husband Mark of Tennessee; grandchildren, Keplyn, Noah, Ashley Thompson and husband Kevin, Isaiah, Dacota, Brittany, D’Nayzia, Gavin, Mahealani, Wil, Cooper, Belle, and Jacob; and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild in September; two brothers, Walter Green and wife Pat of Texico, and Jon Green and wife Fern of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Cathy Schwegler of Tennessee; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Green of Iuka, and Cathy Green of Centralia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 50 years, Martha was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Sue Ellen Green, Charlie Green, Terry Green and wife Thelma, James “Ches” Green, and Denny Green.
Martha was a member of Donoho Prairie Christian Church, where she was a song leader, youth group leader, member of the ladies group, and leader of the D.P. Regiment. She was also the piano player at Main Street Christian Church. She was an R.N. at Crossroads until the time of her illness. Martha loved music, people, and bird watching. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and game night at her house with family.
Funeral services for Mrs. Archer will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Donoho Prairie Christian Church with Matt Renaud and Brad Green officiating. Burial will follow at Donoho Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.
