The Illinois Department of Transportation is reminding the public to party safely this St. Patrick’s day.
It’s a good idea to plan ahead of time how you are going to get home says IDOT spokesperson Kelsea Gurski.
Gurski says you can expect to see more cops out on the roads this weekend, as well as roadside safety checks and seat belt enforcement zones. They will especially be looking for drunk drivers.
15 people died in crashes around St. Patrick’s Day last year in Illinois. Drunk driving was a factor in at least four of those deaths.
