Velma Marie Ullery, 83, of Texico, passed away at 4:30 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018, at her home.

She was born January 25, 1935, in West Brooklyn, Illinois, the daughter of Berthyl Bryan and Edna Marie (Minor) Austin.  On August 29, 1961, she married Earl Ullery, and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1996.

She attended Meyer School, and Bluford High School, and was a member of Panther Fork Missionary Baptist Church.  She was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Union.  She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, gardening, and spending time with her family and her church family.

Mrs. Ullery is survived by her children, Earl Ullery III, and special friend Renee Anderson of Mt. Vernon, Diann Coffman of Mt. Vernon, Phyllis Bechthel and husband Ky of Mt. Vernon, Joseph Ullery and wife Kelli of Mt. Vernon, Suzann Kellerman of Breese, Harry Ullery and wife Corrine of Mt. Vernon, and Audrey Wilkins and husband Chad of Salem;  twenty three grandchildren;  thirty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, Lavern Austin and wife Betty of Mt. Vernon, and Chalon Austin and wife Effie Mae.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ullery; her parents, Bert and Edna Austin;  three brothers, Bert (Sonny) Austin and wife Alice, Waymon Austin and wife Marjorie, and Marvie Austin and wife June; one sister, Patricia Connaway; and one son-in-law, Daniel Kellerman.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ullery will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018, at Panther Fork Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. John Ashby officiating.  Burial will follow at Panther Fork Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from Sunday, February 18, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.  Memorials may be made to Panther Fork Missionary Baptist Church, and will be accepted at the service or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
