A 29-year-old Springfield, Missouri man is expected to enter a plea agreement in a case that started with a report of a stolen purse.
Brandin Hylton is charged with Class 2 felony burglary, Class 3 felony meth possession, and Class 4 identity theft.
Hylton was arrested last month following an investigation into a report from the Bluford American Legion of a stolen purse.
A credit card in the purse had reportedly been used at Walmart, and while enroute to Walmart, a deputy reportedly spotted Hylton walking down the interstate.
After questioning, Hylton threw something on the ground that was later found to be meth. The sheriff’s office also reported that Hylton matched the description of the person who took the purse at the American Legion.
As a suspect vehicle was leaving Wal-Mart another deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as 31-year-old Christina Sloan. Sloan had a revoked driver’s license and was arrested.
Inside the car Deputies located the stolen purse and additional methamphetamine with needles.
Both Hylton and Sloan were arrested.
