Nelson married Connie Diana (Shelton) Poole in Opdyke, Illinois on January 19, 1974 and they were blessed with 44 years together.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday January 29, 2018 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M.Tuesday, January 30, 2018 with Reverend Keith Neal officiating.
