Two people were involved in a two-vehicle crash in Saline County Monday morning.

Illinois State Police say around 9:40, 61-year-old William R. Howard of Eldorado was driving his pickup truck east on US 45 approaching the intersection on Illinois 142 when for unknown reasons he failed to sop at the stop light on US 45. Howard continued into the intersection where he struck the passenger side of a 2015 International truck driven by 35-year-old Lincoln D. McMillen of Marion. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Howard was initially taken by ambulance and later airlifted to a regional hospital. McMillen was not hurt in the crash.

Howard was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
