A former Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy arrested last week for alleged sexual abuse and misconduct was put on unpaid administrative leave indefinitely Wednesday night by the West Franklin County Central Dispatch Board.
Christopher Hampton faces one count of criminal sexual assault and a second count of custodial sexual misconduct from an incident in January of last year. Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones put Hampton on administrative leave and began an investigation into the incident. Hampton later resigned and later began working at the dispatch center. That’s according to WSIL-TV.
Hampton appeared in court Wednesday for a bond reduction hearing. A judge reduced Hampton’s bail from $150,000 to just $5,000. Hampton was bailed out of the Franklin County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
