JEFFERSON COUNTY — Members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed a search warrant Thursday morning in the 300 block of South Second Street in Mt. Vernon, which resulted in the arrests of three people inside the home on drug-related charges.

According to a press release, 51-year-old Roy Moorman, 49-year-old Kathleen King, and 46-year-old Melinda Logan, were all arrested on charges of alleged possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug equipment. A fourth person was found inside the home at 320 South Second but was released without charge.

The search warrant was obtained after an investigation conducted by the Mt Vernon Police Department Narcotics Division, with the assistance of the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s office indicated that Methamphetamine was present at the residence.

After the residence was secured a search was conducted by MVPD Narcotics Detectives that reportedly revealed drug equipment, methamphetamine, and controlled substances.

All three subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail where they await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
