(SANDUSKY, IL) — A one-car crash in Alexander County Monday morning killed a Tamms infant. Illinois State Police say around 7:10, 19-year-old Velencia Holloway of Tamms was driving her car south on Illinois 127 north of Trinity Road in the Sandusky area when someone saw the car leaving the roadway to the right striking a culvert. The car then went airborne. The car rolled and ejected Holloway and the infant. Holloway suffered life threatening injuries and was taken away by EMS. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene by the Alexander County Coroner. ISP says seat belts were not used and a child safety seat was not used. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
