Leon J. “Jack” Overstreet of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017.  He was born on September 3, 1934, in Celina, Tennessee.  His parents were John Butler Overstreet and Edna Earl Thurman Overstreet. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of one’s choice. Services will be held as follows:  Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon on Thursday, March 9, and funeral at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 10, at Hughey Funeral Home.
