(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council is scheduled to meet this evening at 7 p.m. Among items on the agenda, the council will hear a recommendation to accept bids received by the Foreign Fire Insurance Board to permit renovations to Fire Station 4. The City Manager will give a capital projects report. The City Attorney will give second readings of ordinances authorizing the transfer of municipal real property at 145 Opdyke as well as vacation of an alley, first readings of ordinances annexing real estate to the City of Mt. Vernon and amending an agreement with Good Samaritan Regional Health Center related to use of the city right of way, and resolutions approving agreements with McCoy & Howard Consulting Engineers, Inc. for HVAC services and electrical upgrades to City Hall, with Heneghan & Associates, P.C. for professional services related to repairs and repainting of the Opdyke Elevated Tank, and reclassifying certain public utilities and sanitation accounts for accounting purposes. The meeting will be held at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.
