(CARBONDALE, IL) — Police in Carbondale say their investigation into last Saturday’s robbery at the Kroger Fuel Station on North Giant City Road found that the robbery was staged and two people are in custody in connection with the incident. According to the police report, police went to Kroger around 2:13 p.m. after getting a report of armed robbery at the fuel station. During the course of the investigation, officers learned the employee that was working at that time conspired with his brother to stage a robbery in order to commit a theft. Police on Wednesday arrested 19-year-old Devante C.A. Jackson of Milwaukee, WI for theft over $500 and 20-year-old Houston A. Jackson of Carbondale with theft over $500 along with felony disorderly conduct-filing a false police report. Both are being held in the Jackson County Jail. Police continue to investigate this incident.
