(BENTON, IL) — Franklin County Emergency Management Director Ryan Buckingham has released preliminary survey information from the National Weather Service concerning the tornadoes that impacted southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and Indiana. The weather service says the first tornado was rated at least an EF-3. It stretched northwest of Perryville, MO to just southwest of Christopher – a path length of nearly 50 miles. The second tornado was also rated and EF-3 and stretched just southwest of Crossville to just southeast of Oakland City, IN – a path length of 44 miles. A full survey is expected to be released today.
