(SALEM, IL) — A 27-year-old Sandoval man added to his troubles over the weekend while in custody of the Marion County jail he reportedly used the jail phone to contact a person listed on a no contact order he had just been served. Eric Thompson was arrested Saturday by Salem police following an incident in Sandoval where he allegedly trespassed at a Marion County Housing Authority apartment occupied by Lisa Thompson. Eric Thompson was banned last year from housing authority property. He was later located by Salem police but he attempted to hide his identity and then reportedly fled on foot. He was quickly taken into custody on charges of resisting a peace officer and obstructing justice. After being transported to the Marion County jail, Thompson was served with an order of protection prohibiting him from having contact with Lisa Thompson. He reportedly used a jail phone a short time later to contact Lisa Thompson, and despite warnings against doing so attempted to call her a second time, resulting in an additional charge of violating an order of protection.
