(BENTON, IL) — Republican State Rep. Dave Severin of Benton recently announced that he has received his committee assigning for the 100th General Assembly. Severin will be serving on the following committees: Appropriations – Elementary & Secondary Education, Business Incentives for Local Communities, Agriculture & Conservation, Tourism, Appropriations – Human Services and Mental Health. Severin says in a press release that he is honored to have received these committee assignments for the 100th General Assembly. Severin added that he has years of experience in education, human services and fighting for our most vulnerable, so he is looking forward to sitting on the two appropriations committees that align with this experience as legislators craft a balanced budget. Severin noted he is excited for the 117th District because agriculture and tourism are large parts of the district’s economy. As a small business owner, Severin says he is thrilled to be able to work extensively on creating development opportunities for our communities.
