James Verl Anderson, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 11:25 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born Monday, August 15, 1927 in Wayne City, Illinois to parents, James Veryl Rosa Mae (Peyton) Anderson.  He married Hazel Maxine Russell on June 2, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Randy Sells officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Members of the American Legion Post #141 will conduct a flag presentation at the cemetery.
