Walt Gentry, 82, of Mount Vernon, passed away at 4:45 P.M., Friday, December 30, 2016 at his residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois, with Mr. Randy Sells & Mr. J. Howard Krapps officiating.  Members of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors following the service. Per his request, Mr. Gentry will be cremated and a Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 A.M. until service time, 1:00 P.M. January 7, 2017 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the family of Walt Gentry.
