Michelle Lynn Shafer, 41, of New Haven, Kentucky, formerly of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:35 A.M., Monday, December 26, 2016 at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. A celebration of life service service will be held Friday, Janaury 6, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Rachael Helgeson officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. A visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
