(VANDALIA, IL) — A 56-year-old Vandalia man will appear today for a final hearing in Fayette County Court, before moving forward with a confirmed jury trial date next week on multiple counts related to child pornography. William Frakes faces two Class X felony charges of possessing child pornography of victims under the age of 13 depicted in sadistic manner, and Class 2 felony possessing child pornography photos of victims under the age of 13. Frakes was arrested on the charges in July and has remained in the Fayette County Jail since that time, with bail set at $350,000. Two requests by Frakes to have bail reduced have been denied. However, if able to post bond he is prohibited from having contact with anyone under the age of 18 and is not to possess any electronic device or have access to any device that can access the internet. He is allowed supervised visits with his grandchildren. Frakes is scheduled for a January 3, jury trial on the charges.
