(FAIRFIELD, IL) — A 33-year-old Fairfield man awaiting a position on the Fairfield Police force has been arrested for allegedly choking his son during a recent altercation.  Illinois State Police detectives investigated the case. At the time of his arrest, Matthew Wayne Parker was on the City of Fairfield’s official eligibility list for a City Police Officer position. Parker remains in the Wayne County jail pending the filing of formal charges and setting of bail.
