WASHINGTON COUNTY–A three vehicle crash on Highway 15 in Washington County Friday morning has resulted in injuries.

Illinois State Police reports indicate that at 9:50 AM Friday 40-year-old William Bergmann of Venedy was travelling westbound on Illinois Route 15 slowing in preparation to turn southbound onto Little Prairie Road. Bergman saw an oncoming International Truk driven by 44-year-old Israel Gregoire of Boonville, Indiana, and proceeded to pull his Sterling Dump Truck partially off of the roadway to let the International pass–believing it would be unable to come to a complete stop.

As Gregoire began to pass Bergman, an oncoming Jeep driven by 50-year-old Martin Raterman of Okawville had to leave off the roadway to avoid striking the passing International. The Jeep traveled into the right ditch before overturning and was towed from the scene.

Raterman and his passengers, 46-year-old Laurie Raterman and 26-year-old James Raterman, both of Okawville, were transported to local hospitals with injuries. Charges are pending at this time.
