(BENTON, IL) — It looks like everything is on track for the Benton Police Department to move to its new location on West Washington Street by the end of January, weather permitting. During Monday night’s Benton City Council meeting, council members got the latest construction report from Curt Erwin of Curt Erwin Construction. The police department did not move when City Hall relocated to its new location back in August. The original cost for the new facility was expected to run around $300,000, but with some unexpected construction costs that recently came up, the total cost of the project is expected to run anywhere from $350,000 to $375,000.
