(BENTON, IL) — A trial date has been set for a Christopher man who allegedly shot and killed his wife on Halloween at their home in Christopher. Forty-three-year-old Brian D. Pheasant was in Franklin County Court recently for his preliminary hearing. During that hearing, he pled not guilty on two counts of first-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Beth A. Pheasant. Brian Pheasant will be back in court again Jan. 26 for a pretrial hearing. His trial is set for Feb. 7 He remains lodged in the Franklin County Jail on $2 million bond. Police went to the couple’s home on Oct. 31 after getting a 911 call. When officers arrived, they found Pheasant with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
