(CHRISTOPHER, IL) — The Illinois State Police is investigating the death of 37 year old Beth A. Pheasant, of Christopher, Illinois. Christopher police officers responded to the Pheasant residence on the night of October 31, 2016, after receiving a 911 call. The victim appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at the scene by Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler. Investigation resulted in the arrest of the victim’s spouse, 43 year old Brian D. Pheasant. He has been charged with murder and is currently incarcerated in Franklin County jail pending a first court appearance. The case will be prosecuted by Franklin County State’s Attorney Evan Owens. The investigation continues. Part of Route 14 between State and Maple Streets was closed for a short time this morning. but has now reopened.
