(CARBONDALE, IL) — The sheriff’s office in Jackson County says through additional information, investigators believe they know the kind of vehicle that was involved in a hit and run crash earlier this week in rural Murphysboro. Officials are looking for a late 1990s to early 2000 model Toyota Sienna minivan that is light in color. Around 6:45 Monday evening, the minivan ran off the roadway in the 1500 block of West Harrison Road, hit a mailbox post and continued through the front yard of the home striking the side of the home. At least two people were believed to be inside the vehicle. The sheriff’s office says damage to the minivan would be found on the driver side front bumper area. The minivan was last seen going west on Harrison Road. No injuries were reported by those who lived at the home. Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at 684-2177.
