(MARION, IL) — The Marion City Council recently named Greg Lynn as the city’s nuisance officer. Lynn will be in charge of handling complaints from residents related to the recently passed ordinance and cite those who violate it. Lynn will begin his new duties in November after retiring from the Secretary of State Police Office. That’s according to the Southern Illinoisan. Under the nuisance ordinance, residents can not have excess trash in the street, neglected trash in yards and abandoned vehicles. If anyone is found in violation of the ordinance, they can face up to $750 in fines.
