(BENTON, IL) — A house fire occurred around 8:15 yesterday morning at 807 North Commercial in Benton.  Benton Fire Chief Shane Cockrum told WSIL-TV the fire started in the attic and the house is a total loss.  Timothy Vice and his family were at home when the fire started. They made it out okay. A family member thought the fire started in an upstairs bathroom. West City and West Frankfort firefighters assisted the Benton Fire Department in fighting the fire.
