(MT. VERNON, IL) — Bail has been set at $500,000 for a 31-year-old Mt. Vernon man who was charged Tuesday morning in Jefferson County Court with multiple felonies for sex acts committed against two children. Charles J. Mick was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with three Class X counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 and three Class 2 felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 13. According to court information, the charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Illinois State Police. The investigation showed Mick committed the sex acts against one victim between March 21 and March 27, 2015, and against another victim between 2006 and 2009. Mick is next due in court August 3, preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
