(INA, IL) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake has scheduled a ribbon cutting ceremony for Picnic Shelter #4 at the North Sandusky Recreation Area. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. Officials say the shelter was constructed through the Corps Handshake Partnership Program. The program provides a financial incentive to Corps facilities to engage partnerships with their local communities to complete worthwhile projects that benefit public lands. Rend Lake was one of thirteen recipients of the funded projects for the Fiscal Year 2015. Several local unions were sought out as partners to utilize their specialized skills to complete the construction of the shelter.
