(BENTON, IL) — Three Franklin County men were involved in a one-car accident early Saturday morning on Peach Orchard Road just east of Route 148 in rural Franklin County. Sheriff Don Jones says 22-year-old Johnothan D. Burlison of Benton, 21-year-old Travis L. Reginato of Benton and 20-year-old Charles T.  Hayse of West Frankfort were in a car that had been going east on Peach Orchard Road at a high rate of speed around 12:10 a.m. when it left the roadway on the north side. The car struck a large culvert causing it to go airborne and ejecting the three men from it. Jones says it’s not known at this time which man was driving because their seating positions have not yet been determined. All three men received life threatening injuries and were flown to out of state trauma centers. The crash remains under investigation.
