(SALEM, IL) — A 45-year-old Salem man was formally charged Tuesday in Marion County Court with felony domestic battery, and his bail has been set at $25,000. Darren Donoho was arrested over the weekend for allegedly striking a woman multiple times. When the woman reportedly tried to hide in the bathroom, Donoho is then alleged to have broken down the bathroom door, pulled her hair and stepped on her throat. He was charged Tuesday with two counts Class 2 felony aggravated domestic battery with intentional strangling. Donoho is next scheduled in court July 26, for a first appearance with his court appointed attorney. If he is able to post $2,500 cash bond to gain release, he is to have no contact with the alleged victim.
