(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council will have the rare Tuesday night meeting due to the Independence Day holiday this evening at 7 p.m. Among items on the agenda, the council will hear results of proposal requests for the city websites as well as bid results for maintenance materials using MFT funds. The city manager will present the capital projects report and request permission for the closure of North 9th Street from Main Street to Harrison for the “Counting Cars and Help For Kids” car show. The city attorney will give a second reading of an ordinance regarding prevailing wage rate, a first reading of an ordinance dedicating real estate for use as public roads at the new industrial park, and an ordinance approving TIF agreement with J&R Appliance. The meeting will be held at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.
